How to cope with daily life in Germany.

What do I have to know? What do I have to be capable of?

27.04.2015 at 18:00

WHEN: Monday, April 27th, 2015 at 6pm (start at 6.15pm)

WHERE: Ludwigstraße 27, room G212 (2nd floor)

WHAT: Together with international and German students, we want to talk about your experience and ideas and try to define, what it takes to cope with daily life in Germany:

What do I have to know to get along in Germany? What is there to talk about for small talk? What kind of behavior is appropriate/inappropriate in certain situations?

I'm sure you have had interesting or irritating experiences in Germany before. Bring these critical incidents along and we'll try to figure out some interpretations or explanations for what has happened.

There are a lot of influences on interpersonal communication, like mood, context, expectations, but also culture plays an enormous role.

That's why we would like to meet and talk about German customs, about day-to-day topics, taboo topics and so on, so you are well prepared to profit from your next irritating situation.

Snacks and drinks will be provided. Just bring yourself, your thoughts, your problems and ideas and we will have a great evening together.

If you want to participate, please send a short email to this address: ikberatung@lmu.de

And don't be shy, if your German is not as good yet. Nobody will have to hide in this familiar and intercultural environment!
