"Germany for the Germans?"

Experiencing stereotypes, discrimination and racism?

16.01.2018 at 18:00

WHEN: Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 at 6 p.m. (start at 6.15 p.m.)

WHERE: Ludwigstraße 27, room G212 (2nd floor)

WHAT: Together with international and German students, we want to talk about your experiences, ideas and questions:

How do you feel as an international student? Have you ever been discriminated against? Have you been confronted with racism in Germany before?
It´s not easy to feel at home in a new culture. Especially if the major community is not always welcoming you with open arms. Since the refugee crisis racism once more came up for discussion in Germany.
We want to create a trustworthy atmosphere to talk about discrimination experiences, about the emotions evoked by them, about personal opinions and perceptions of the current situation in Germany. We want to tell our stories, listen to each other, support each other and find solutions and strategies to deal with it properly.

Snacks and drinks will be provided. Just bring yourself, your thoughts, your problems, and ideas and we will have a great evening together.

If you want to participate, please send a short email to this address: ikberatung@lmu.de

The event will be primarily in German but don't be shy, if your German is not as good yet. Nobody will have to hide in this familiar and intercultural environment!
